Efficient Numerical Solution of Coupled Axisymmetric Plasma Equilibrium and Eddy Current Problems

چکیده

This paper presents an efficient numerical tool for solving the problem of transient nonlinear evolution plasma equilibrium in presence eddy currents. The code, named FRIDA-TD (FRIDA-Time Domain), and based on existing FRIDA (FRee-boundary Integro-Differential Axisymmetric) exploits two different approaches elated system Partial Differential Equations (PDE): (i) Finite Element Method - Boundary (FEM-BEM) equilibrium, (ii) Axisymmetric Volume Integral (AVI) formulation resulting is a fast flexible suitable engineering-oriented purposes, such as design Tokamak devices, set up operations, prediction performance scenarios, feedback control systems. successfully validated at first with well-established CarMa0NL then against experimental data RFX-mod device.
